Katy Days Vintage Base Ball 2017 (Saturday, May 27, 2017)

Katy Railroad “Golden Spikes” will host the “Howe House Griffins” from Emporia in a Vintage Base Ball game as part of the annual Katy Days celebration.

Free ice cream to the first 300!

Vintage Base Ball is played with the customs and rules used by community baseball clubs of the 19thcentury. While some rules are quite different from those used today, such as no overhand pitching, a vintage game gives a fascinating view into the evolution of the modern game. Players will be in period uniforms, without gloves, and they will be using the original terminology and customs of the game.

Vintage Base Ball is a fun and educational experience for anyone who is a fan of the game, or even those who just want to enjoy a beautiful afternoon of green grass and blue skies!
